"That vital energy to create art was always there"

But I was always so impressed by the fact that Bill never stopped creating art. And you know, even to the point where he was very debilitated with Parkinson's disease, he would still make wire sculptures, still do sketches and drawings to essentially his dying day. And to me that was extraordinary, that that vital energy to create art was always there.

Dr. George MacDonald, anthropologist, author, and Director of the Bill Reid Centre for Northwest Coast Art Studies at SFU, interviewed at the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art, 2008.
